Fort Steele – Kootenays

Fort Steele is about fifteen minutes NE of Cranbrook, BC On Highway 95 (AKA Kootenay Highway). It’s not a dog park, but dogs are welcome as long as they are well behaved and kept on a leash. It only costs $5.00 per human to get in. Dawgs are free.

The day we visited, there was a dog show at 12:30 PM. Lots of people and their pooches participated. Some even arrived in costume. It was good fun.

Alice made friends with a donkey, a horse, some turkeys, some chickens, and some other doggies. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time. If you’re in the area, we recommend visiting this historic, old-west town.

Alice gives it 3 paws because there were so many new smells and fun things to explore. She was good and tuckered by the time we finished our visit.
